Is a Maine Coon what you are looking for?
The Maine Coon breed is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically from the state of Maine. It was known already in the 1800s. There are many folktales around its origin, and one of them is that a Maine Coon is a cross-breeding between a cat and a racoon. This is of course genetically impossible.
The Maine Coon is a large breed and is known as the "gentle giant". The coat is soft and silky, with a medium to long length. They enjoy company from both children and other animals. A Maine Coon wants to be where things happen, and they follow you around the house. They do not fancy closed doors.
A normal weight for a female is 4-6 kg, a males weight is about 6-8 kg. There are individual variations. A Maine Coon is fully grown at 3-5 years of age.
This is a curious and playful breed. They often enjoy playing with water. When my kids take a bath the cats often sit on the side of the bath tub watching. A Maine Coon often says "brrrp" instead of "miaow". A Maine Coon is a cat with great personality!
